Meet Our Board of Directors
James Jurdak
James was born and raised in Waterville and attended C. W. Post College in Brookville NY. He received a Masters in Public Administration in 2006 from the University of Maine Orono. James spent 26 years in the private sector working in Public Accounting, large and small manufacturing and large and small construction companies, holding positions from Senior Accountant to Chief Financial Officer. Since 1999, he has worked as a School Business Administrator and is currently with the Augusta School Department. In addition to the Augusta Boys & Girls Club for Teens, James is actively involved in: The Oakland Lions Club, The Kennebec Regional Development Authority and the Maine Association of School Business Officials.
Jed Davis, Esq.
Jed is a graduate of Princeton College and Yale Law School. He belongs to the bars of the States of Maine and New York, and has been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Military Appeals, and various United States district and appellate courts. He was an officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve Judge Advocate General's office.
As one of the founders of the Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine, Jed has served as the Center's president, and is currently a member of its Board of Directors. Jed is also on the Planning Board of Fayette, Maine, which is his town of residence. Jed has been practicing law full-time since 1963 and has argued many cases before the Maine Supreme Court and other appellate courts. His plan is to emulate his father, Phillip Davis, who practiced law until the age of 89.
Roy Miller, M.D.
A former Californian, Roy received his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. After completing his residency in Family Practice at Maine Medical Center, he joined Sheepscot Valley Health Center as a family physician where he has worked since 1980. In his spare time, Roy enjoys skiing, snowshoeing and working out at the gym. He and his wife, Lisa, raised three boys who have headed off into the world in a variety of directions.
Nancy Ruark
Nancy is a retired educator and lives in Augusta. She received her Masters in Education in Counseling from the University of Maine at Orono and worked in the Augusta school system for 17 years. Nancy’s interest and experience focused on students with learning challenges. In 1986, Nancy and a colleague at Cony High School established a work/study program for at risk youth that was very successful. In 1999, Nancy was recognized with the Augusta Rotary Teacher of the Year Award. That same year, she joined the Cony High School Guidance Department where she remained until her retirement in 2003.
Nancy is treasurer of the Gamma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International, a member of ADAPT within the Augusta School Department and serves on the Diaconate Board of the Old South Congregational Church in Hallowell.

Chelsea Moeller
A native Midwesterner, Chelsea Moeller graduated from Truman State University in Northeast
Missouri with a double major in English and Sociology/Anthropology before beginning her tenure as a Pine Tree state resident in 2005. Serving two consecutive years as an Americorps*VISTA volunteer prior to embarking on her current venture in MaineGeneral Health’s Office of Philanthropy, Chelsea now focuses on event management, the employee combined campaign and other functions in the development office. The recipient of the Richardson T. Miner scholarship, Moeller attended the Madison Institute of Healthcare Philanthropy in Madison, Wisconsin over the summer and looks forward to a continued education in development and its many worthwhile applications in the Augusta area.

Barbara Jordan, DEd
Former Director of Curriculum and Instruction
foir the Augusta School District. Currently Project Director for 21st Century Community Learning Centers for The Augusta Boys & Girls Club. She is creating afterschool programs in all four elementary schools, the middle school, and the high school for students who are struggling with curriculum and academics. She is former Fullbright Scholar who studied the Japanese educational system.
Tobias Parkhurst
Tobias grew up in Fairfield and received his Bachelors Degree in Political Science from the University of Hartford in Hartford, Connecticut. A life long skateboarder, Toebee turned professional in 2001 and has been actively involved since. He currently splits his time between his career as a professional skateboarder and a project manager at O&P Glass. He and his wife Crystal, who also works at O&P now live in Augusta.
